I want everyone to be able to read my writing, explore my books and games, and get in touch. I use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a target when building and improving this website.
Reading and navigating
- Pages use headings and navigation landmarks to help screen-reader users find their way around.
- A “Skip to content” link lets keyboard users move past the navigation.
- Links and controls have visible keyboard focus indicators. The mobile menu can be opened with the keyboard and closed with Escape.
- Text is designed for contrast, browser zoom, and small screens. Informative images have text alternatives.
- Decorative illustrations do not animate continuously. The site respects your device’s reduced-motion preference.
- Contact fields have labels, and validation messages identify information that needs correcting.
Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is part of maintaining this site. I use automated checks and manual reviews to find and address barriers. These checks do not cover every combination of browser and assistive technology, and I am not claiming complete WCAG conformance.
The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA. If verification or any other part of the site is difficult to use, you can email me directly. Linked retailers and other external services have their own interfaces.
Report a problem or ask for help
Email hello@geoffschemel.com. You do not need to use the contact form or complete CAPTCHA to ask for help.
If you can, include the page address, what you were trying to do, and what went wrong. Your browser or assistive technology may help me reproduce the issue, but sharing those details is optional. I will review your message and work with you to find a way to access the information.
